Procreate® Pocket Handbook

File Types

In Procreate Pocket, you can import and export work across a wide variety of image formats.

Procreate Format

Every artwork you make in Procreate Pocket saves as a .procreate file format on your iPhone. This format is unique to Procreate products.

Using Procreate Pocket's native file format has several benefits.

  • Your artwork loads faster, and takes up less space on your iPhone.
  • Your .procreate files are easy to share with other Procreate artists.
  • Your progress is automatically saved in Procreate Pocket while you draw. This way you never need to worry about saving while you work.
  • The .procreate file format also stores video data inside your image file. This allows you to view and share a Time-lapse Replay of your art works creation.

Procreate Pocket can also open and save files in many other popular formats.
