Ideas & Suggestions

The following explains how we use the Ideas & Suggestions discussion board and how you can be best heard. This board is for you to share thoughts about possible improvements to Procreate, Procreate Pocket, or Procreate Dreams. We shape our updates with the aid of community feedback, so please share here as we regularly check for your suggestions.

We’re listening

We read every thread. Once we investigate and discuss a request at Procreate, we add a response and tag the thread to show whether the request is planned, in development, or was released. See below for more detail about the tags we use.

Every update is aligned with our internal roadmap. However, while developing an update we go through Ideas & Suggestions to see what else fits. We can’t always fulfill the most recent or most popular requests as some features take more time to develop than we have allocated for the next update.

We always care

We want to hear about your experience using our apps and what we can do to improve it. We know it can be disheartening to see your suggestion tagged as ‘Not Planned’. The requested feature might be interesting to us, but it doesn’t fit with our current roadmap and goals, or we don’t think it suits the app. We are listening and you should keep the conversation going if you think there is more to explore or detail you can add.

Problems not solutions

We want to know the reason behind a specific request. Provide detail on the problem that is holding you back, rather than suggesting a solution. We always focus on identifying the best experience for the apps and on the iPad, and often that means resolving the issue in a way that feels natural in Procreate, Procreate Pocket, or Procreate Dreams.

How to get involved

Try these tips for getting the most out of Ideas & Suggestions:

  • Check if your suggestion has already been shared. If it has, show your support for the existing discussion. You can simply leave a vote — green button to vote up, red button to vote down — to let us know how you feel about the suggestion, plus engage with others in the comments.

  • Create an individual thread for each of your suggestions. This will make it clear what people are voting for and keep the discussions focused on a particular request.

  • Keep the conversation going, even if we tag the request 'Not Planned’. We may reconsider the request if we’re provided with more insight into why you would like to see it.

What the tags mean

These are the tags we use:

Not Planned

There are no current plans to develop this specific request. (This doesn’t mean we don’t want to resolve the root issue.)

Considered

The request is valid, but it requires further research before we know if it’s feasible.

Planned

This request is being actively investigated.

In Development

A resolution to this request is being developed.

Released

A feature has been released that resolves this request.

Duplicate

This suggestion has already been requested. (The thread has been locked and redirected to the original thread.)

Don't bump

To keep the board fresh and relevant please do not 'bump' threads. Bumping is posting with the sole intention of pushing a thread to the top of the board to place attention on a previously discussed topic. If you’re commenting on an existing thread, make sure your post adds more detail or value in some way. If you just want to show support, please use the voting buttons. If you’re simply bumping threads, you may incur action against your account.
